It would be interesting to know how many cards are in the discard pile to be able to choose when to build a wonder.
I will carry on playing to see if the same happens with the other stage of wonders.

I had the similar situation, too.

After I finished the first step (3wp) of my wonder HALIKARNASSOS,

I built the second step and wanted to play a card from discard pile for free.

The system showed the cards of discard pile, but there was no effect when I clicked any of them.

Only if I clicked "I don't take a card" could the game continue, so I got nothing during this phase.

Please fix this bug and I appreciate your efforts.

I had a similar thing happen with the same wonder. I tried to build a card from the discard as my final action. I got an error saying the game was over, but my time was still winding down. It wouldn't even let me decline to take a card. I ended having to be booted by the other players in order for the game to concluded. Game is listed as abandoned before it started.

I'm playing on my iPhone (using Safari). When I tried to tap on a structure to build from the discard pile, it wouldnt place it on the board but instead showed me information about the card. My turn timed out while I tried to return to the interface (refresh did not work).

I have been playing from iPhone and am having the same issue as other users described, it does not let me choose from the discard pile, which makes the helikanarsos board useless, this has happened to me almost every time I had that board, I think I only was able to select during one game.

When I tried, the information would pop up and I would either not be able to close out of it without refreshing, or it would be the only thing that would pop up and then go away. Also had to choose not to pick one to continue the game.

Last move of the game #42845115 for me wouldn't let me build a guild for free and kept saying unexpected error. Tried to refresh multiple times but it made no difference.

Can’t build no one for free card from discard after 2nd wonder. When I tap to each card opening just information about that card. F5 didn’t help (refresh page in browser).
It’s happened once when i build 1st wonder, but there i can select card after second time.
I played by mobile version, safari, iphone.

Bug appears on mobile only (iphone for me), and at any level of Halikarnassos wonder. It seems to exclude the pick up of blue (culture) cards, which I found possible a couple of times. It has always been impossible for me to retrieve other cards though. In this last case, the only way to continue game is to say 'don't pick card'.

Is this bug still valid?

I tried to disabled the tooltip on touchscreen for Halikarnassos wonder card selection, because it may be linked to this.

If you encounter this bug again, please:
_ specify if you are using a touchscreen or not (ex: specify "iPhone").
_ specify if F5 has solved the problem.
_ if you are using a mouse, specify if the mouse cursor change when you are over a card (it should).
_ if possible, it would also be good to have a screenshot.

Thanks for your help to solve this bug.

I had a similar problem. I built a stage of my Halicarnassus wonder on the last turn of the game. (Game #45132078) It wouldn't let me choose from the cards that the players discarded on the last turn. It only had cards from previous turns.

From the rule book
Clarification : this special action is taken at the end of the turn in which the
stage is built. If players discard cards on that turn (for example, during the
6th turn of an age), the player can also choose from among those cards.

using a mouse
it would let me click on it but the arrow did not light up and nothing would happen as a result of the click

Halikarnassus is scripted wrong... . Should be end of era, before military.
Not an immediate choice.

Halicarnassus power is activated at the end of turn the wonder was built. So, that is not at the end of the era/Age nor is it immediate (when Babylon B can also play the 7th card instead of discarding it).

This just happened to me on table game #49544465

I completed the 3rd stage of the wonder in age III. The discard interface popped up, but clicking the card did nothing. The timer counted down and eventually I was evicted from the game with a karma penalty. Please fix this and restore my karma.

Game# 49544465 was played on PC using Opera web browser. I had played about 25 games of 7 Wonders earlier in the day with zero problems. I don't remember if the mouse cursor changed. I didn't use F5, but I did try to manually refresh my browser, but either it didn't help or it was too late and I was already kicked from the game.

UPDATE March 14th 2019:

We've disabled the tooltip on Halicarnassus discarded cards choice on small screens, because it may be the source of the problem.

Please post here if you still encounter this problem after this date.

Please specify your device (phone ? computer ?) and if the mouse cursor is "normal" or has a "you can click here" icon.

Same problem using Windows 7/chrome browser. had to take a card i didn't want after the first wonder. Tried to persevere after the second wonder, same problem then ran out of time and was expelled!! Tried F5 twice - no change. No happy with the karma penalty.

Playing on desktop, Firefox 68.0.1, not experienced this before, so can't remember how the cursor looked. Had a choice of two cards, couldn't do any action on any of them.

I've the same bugg just now.

I developed my first wonder, so I had to choose between two cards from the discard pile (there were only two, both of them were the same) but it's impossible to choose , it's blocked.

I use PC and Mozilla as navigator.

Two layers of cards appear on the screen when we use the Halicarnassus wonder power: the discarded cards are shown at the top (the 'top layer') and the cards presently in hand (below layer'). I discovered that if i click on the below layer (cards in hand) nothing happens. Maybe because the card i"m clicking on is not yet discarded (still in my hand). I had to choose from the top layer -- the actual discarded cards.

So, for those players who couldn't click on the card they wanted, make sure you are choosing from the 'top layer' -- the actual discarded cards, not the bottom layer (cards in hand). Hope this helps avoid some confusion.

The same thing happened to me, after constructing first wonder on Halikarnassos. I see two cards and neither of these is allowing me to click on it. I'm using a laptop and mouse - the arrow lights up when I hover, but nothing happens when I click. Responding to post from 10/27/2019 of augustjologs, I only see one layer with cards. There is another layer above that says discard pile but shows no cards, so I initially only interpreted one layer. Is it possible there is nothing in discard pile?

But actually, I agree with earlier comment about scripting.The action should happen at the end of the round, not immediately. I constructed my wonder one turn before end of round in order to be able to choose a card from in hand the last round and then go to discard pile. Instead, I have two cards in hand and there is nothing in discard because we haven't reached end of round. I believe THAT is the bug many are experiencing above, and it has nothing to do with touchscreens.

The same appened to me. I had to choose "I don't take a card" to finish the game for 2 times. The system didn't allow me to choose a card from discard pile evev I refreshed a lots of time. Please solve it. It' not the first time it happens to me.

I played several times this week with halikarnassos and i confirm the @boardshead message :
There is two layer. The last card of the current year is not yet discarded so it is normal that we can not select them.
On the top level, i never encounter the bug. I have always been able to select the card that i can take freely.

Before I built the wonder, I had zero coins. Then I completed wonder and activated the bonus 'build from discard pile for free'. Because I did not have enough coins, some of the cards were 'too expensive' but all of them should be free to me to build. The resource cost and the coin cost should be disregarded for this bonus action.

The same thing happened to me on Halikarnassos, face B. I completed my wonder on the first age. I wanted to choose a card from the discard, but nothing appears. So I had to decline the possibility to build something, else it would have been too late for me.
I used a computer and the mouse cursor is normal. I didn't refresh my page, I could try next time.
But yesterday evening, a friend of mine had the same problem and he used a tablet.
Sorry, in the moment, I didn't do a screenshot and I don't have the number of the table.

In the third round at table 73497802I had to build the second stage of the wonder twice for Halikarnassos. The first time I selected it, nothing happened. (Windows 10/Firefox). had to do it again to get the screen with the cards to open. (Did not sell card for coins nor was it added to my military.)

Same issue with Halikarnassus. I play on android phone. Didn't work in the app and also not in the browser. I got 2 good cards with no requirements and I can't build them. This is extremely unfair.

I have the same in a turn-based game. I have tried with a windows computer, no touch screen in a chrome browser, as well as on a android tablet, with also a chrome browser. When the first round is on, there are NO cards available in the discard pile, they are avaliable only after the end of the first round, that is the problem reffered here

Same problem, table #96635943, on iPhone 7 with Safari browser. Happened after completing stage 1 of my wonder, was shown cards with arrows rather than given option to build for free, and nothing could be selected so I was forced to click “I don’t want to use this” power.

I had a similar scenario.
During Year 1, I was able to trigger the 2nd wonder.
I was able to use this on Year 1, however, was not able to do it on the other rounds.
There was no prompt that I could pick discarded cards.

N/A. Before the round end, this should have been automatic prompt.

• What happened when you tried to do this (error message, game status bar message, ...)?

Just had a similar issue. I was playing the 3rd stage wonder at my last turn (age 3). I had the option to select cards EXCEPT the last one that I had in my (2 cards) hand (it was the military one).

The mouse pointer was buggy on that specific card and I couldn't select it. F5 didn't solve the issue.
I ended up by selecting another card.

On Chrome Version 85.0.4183.83 (Build officiel) (64 bits)

I had a similar problem wherein I built the 3rd stage for my wonder(for Halikarnassos) and I just had to click "The Lodge" in order for me to win. I decided to build my stage and get the card I wanted for a cheaper price instead of buying it instantly in my hand. As I hovered on top of the card, my mouse non-stop was flickering which resulted in me not being able to press the card I wanted. I tried refreshing, opening a new tab, etc. but it was still the same, so I tried hovering over to a new card from the 1st sets(the +5 coin card) and somehow it worked, but for the green card that I wanted, it didn't work.

similar problem I could not play the card I wanted - A symbol- I had to choose a different card to unlock the problem. This made me losing 7 points!

Cannot use the "Choose a building" ability from the Treason card on my PC. Mouse cursor does not change when I hoover on the discarded cards. F5 is not helping. Playing the game on Chrome.
