Hello, I’m steal36 and I just played your game for the first time. I like it a lot! I haven’t experienced any major bugs and it all ran very smoothly as a poker game should. However, I noticed a few small things that could be slightly edited in order to enhance the player experience, if you are open to feedback that is. Allow me to list my initial observations and ideas for you. (Note: I'm aware BGA requests to write one bug per report but I have too many to list them all sepparately so forgive me if this is a lot, and some might repeat what other users have suggested).
- There should be a slider dial to decide how much to bid. I’m not a fan of the current system with 6 options up top plus a custom option where you have to enter a number, it’s just clunky. Give us a slider near our tokens, give us the option to bid small, half or all in, and then a confirm button.
Side note: I didn’t initially see all the toggleable settings under the table screen (and mind you I am playing on the widest display option on a MacBook Pro) because I had to scroll down for it. So a lot of my initial suggestions when I started writing this were all things that you’ve already implemented the option for. What I’d suggest instead is bringing up those options (there’s space for it on the board) or an other form of indication that they’re there, otherwise players might miss it if they don’t think to scroll.
- Small bug I noticed, halfway through the game I unselected the “ask to reveal hands” option and then a few rounds later reselected it, but it wouldn’t give me the cue to reveal my cards anymore. For that reason I wasn’t able to test this next point but in case there isn’t a time limit:
- There should be a time limit on the option to reveal or not show cards.
- There should be less crowding in the actions summary section (not sure what its called), just the important information on how much each player bets, i.e. “player bets 4” “player raises 6”, no need for “__ is now the active player” and no need to notify us every time money moves from a player to their betting pile and from the betting pile to the pot its just too much. You could even remove the game moves like “a 4 is revealed” when I can already see that on the board. No need for “cards have been shuffled” “2 was dealt to each player” etc.
Additionally, the hands at the end don’t fully fit in the recap so it looks clunky cause its 4 cards in a row and one below it, so just scrap that.
- The little colored number titled “the amount of money “player” bet for this betting round” should just disappear when they fold instead of staying on the board as 0.
- What would help new players is a little text below their hand telling them what they currently have, and if you can afford to program it, maybe even a percentage chance of winning like they do in real tournaments.
- There should be chips that say small and big blind, like the dealer chip, instead of a chat bubble above the players saying “I placed a small blind”
- When a player is eliminated, their whole presence should be wiped from the board, as opposed to keeping a large empty semi-transparent box with their name in it and no cards.
- A player’s cards should be greyed out when they fold, instead of disappearing, so they can still see what they ‘would’ve’ had if they continued to play.
Hope these suggestions help you, if you choose to implement some or all of them great, but in either case, thanks for adding this to BGA and good luck with the continued development of your game!
Sincerely,
steal36 -

Sincerely,

• Merci d'expliquer votre suggestion de manière précise et concise, de façon à ce qu'il soit aussi simple que possible de comprendre ce que vous voulez dire.
