NekonyancerIn *Pacifica,* players will draw cards from seven different stacks, play them, and activate them to gain symbols. If they gain enough symbols of a single kind, they'll acquire the corresponding *idol,* but if the opponent acquires even more symbols, they'll *steal* it! [green]The first player to hold 5 idols at once OR 3 secured idols wins the game![/green]2maintitlebar_content

NekonyancerOn the first player's first turn, they must *draw two cards.* They can be from the same stack or different stacks. In this tutorial, the first player is our opponent, [red]nekonekoneko3.[/red]3architecture

NekonyancerIf you look at the top-left corner of the screen, you'll find [red]*our opponent's hand.*[/red] You might need to *scroll up* too. We can see what sorts of cards they drew - one Treasure card and one Population card, in this case - but we can't see what's on them. [blue]Now it's our turn![/blue]1hishandcards_holder

NekonyancerOn our turn, we must take *3 actions.* [blue]Each action can be used in any of the following ways:[/blue] *• Draw a card.* *• Play a card.* *• Activate up to 2 played cards.* We can use multiple actions the same way, if we want.2maintitlebar_content

NekonyancerWe'll start by drawing some cards! *Click on the [red]Treasure stack.[/red] Then click on [blue]"Draw!"[/blue]*3treasure

NekonyancerEach card will grant us the symbols shown along the left edge of the card once *activated.* The *requirement* to do so is shown in the top-right corner. [red]*This particular card*[/red] will give us two treasure symbols, but we'll need to get 1 population symbol first!2handcard_10

NekonyancerWell, if our treasure card requires population, let's draw a population card! *Click on the [red]Population[/red] stack! [blue]Draw![/blue]*3population

Nekonyancer*Scroll down* to our hand again. Hmm. Our new [red]*Population card*[/red] grants two Population symbols... but we'll have to get an *Architecture* symbol first.1gameaction_status_wrap

NekonyancerOur new [red]*Architecture card*[/red] will grant 2 Architecture symbols once activated, but it will require 1 *Stone.* Note that the hexagon in the corner is [red]red[/red] this time. That means it doesn't just *require* Stone - it will *consume* it!1maintitlebar_content

NekonyancerSo, we need *Stone* to activate *Architecture* to activate *Population* to activate *Treasure*... It might seem like we're on a wild goose chase right now, but i promise everything will come together soon!2handcard_54

NekonyancerWe spent all three of our actions drawing cards. [red]Now our opponent will take their real first turn![/red] (Again, on their first turn, all they could do was draw two cards.)3pagemaintitletext

Nekonyancer*Next turn!* We need a Stone symbol. [red]*Resource*[/red] cards can grant both Stone and Brass symbols, but we can't take one yet. We have three cards in our hand right now, which is the *maximum!* We can't draw cards when our hand is full!1resources

NekonyancerIn that case, let's *play* a card first. When a card is played, it is placed face up on our side of the board in front of the stack it came from. We don't have to worry about *requirements* yet - those are for activation, not for playing. *Scroll down and select our [red]Architecture card.[/red][blue] Play![/blue]*2maintitlebar_content

NekonyancerGreat! Our Architecture card is on the table, in front of the Architecture stack. Now we have space to draw another card. *Next, click on the [red]Resource stack![/red][blue] Draw![/blue]*1card_54

Nekonyancer[red]Wow, this card is perfect![/red] It provides one Stone, and it has a ✅ in the top-right corner. That means it has *no requirements* and doesn't need to be activated! *Select the [red]Resource card.[/red][blue] Play![/blue]*1handcard_34

Nekonyancer*Great!* Our Architecture card is on the table, and so is its requirement of 1 Stone. We're ready to *activate!* [blue]We're out of actions though. We'll do it next turn.[/blue]1card_34

NekonyancerActually, before we activate, I think we should play another card. Remember, our three options for each action are: *• Draw a card.* *• Play a card.* *• Activate 2 cards.* If we choose to activate now, we'll waste one potential activation!1card_54

NekonyancerOkay, now we're ready! *Select our [red]Architecture card.[/red][blue] Activate![/blue]* Just under our half of the city, you'll see that BGA needs us to select cards to discard. *Select the Stone card. Then click on [blue]"Activate and discard selected."[/blue]*1gameaction_status_wrap

Nekonyancer*Perfect!* Our Resource card was discarded. A ✅ was placed over the requirement icon on our Architecture card. And if you check our player info panel, you'll see that we now have [red]*2 Architecture symbols!*[/red] [img]https://snipboard.io/U0atuX.jpg[/img]1card_54

NekonyancerOur action isn't finished yet! We can activate a second card in the same action! *Select our [red]Population card.[/red] [blue]Activate![/blue]* Then, just under our half of the city, *click on [blue]"Confirm activation!"[/blue]*2card_30

NekonyancerLet's start thinking about [green]*idols.*[/green] They're all lined up on the left edge of your screen. To take an idol, we need *3* symbols of the corresponding type. Let's go for the Population idol! *Draw another [red]Population card![/red]*2population

NekonyancerThe card we drew grants a single Population symbol, and it doesn't need to be activated! Great! *Play the [red]Population card![/red]*1handcard_17

NekonyancerWhen we gained our 3rd Population symbol, we automatically claimed the *Population Idol!* We also *rotated* it to show a *5* instead of a *3.*1idolrowminebck

NekonyancerIf our opponent accumulates 3 Population symbols, nothing will happen. But if they get to 5, they'll *steal* the Idol and set the number to *7!* Of course, we can stop them from doing that by getting to 5 ourselves. This will still set the number to 7.2idolrowminebck

NekonyancerOnce a player accumulates *7* symbols, they'll *secure* the Idol. [red]That means it can never be stolen again![/red] Remember, we need *5 Idols* or *3 Secured Idols* to win.3idolrowminebck

NekonyancerThere's one idol that's not like the others: the [red]*Diversity idol.*[/red] To acquire it, a player must accumulate *1 of each* symbol. Securing it requires *2 of each.*4idol_top_all

NekonyancerWe've covered the basics of taking actions now, but that's just the tip of the iceberg! There's a lot of *depth* to explore!5architecture

NekonyancerIn general, the stacks on the left are easier to activate. The further we go to the right, the more *difficult* and *rewarding* cards become. As an example, let's take a look at a City Festival card. *Select the [red]City Festival[/red] stack. [blue]Draw![/blue]*6festival

NekonyancerThe card we drew will require us to discard one Population symbol and 1 Treasure symbol upon activation. It will provide one City Festival symbol. That's not a lot, but like many City Festival cards, it comes with a⚡effect in the bottom-right corner! It will trigger as soon as the card is activated. *Play the [red]City Festival[/red] card!*1handcard_110

NekonyancerLet's activate the City Festival card so we can secure our Population Idol. First, we'll need to meet the requirements... *Select our [red]Treasure card.[/red][blue] Play![/blue]*1handcard_10

NekonyancerWe won't get the treasure symbols until the card is activated! *Select the [red]Treasure card[/red] again. [blue]Activate![/blue]* *Scroll down and click on [blue]"Confirm Activation!"[/blue]*1card_10

NekonyancerNow for our second activation! *Select our [red]City Festival card![/red] [blue]Activate![/blue]* Then continue.1card_110

Nekonyancer[red]You activated our City Festival card right?[/red] Just like when we activated our Architecture card, we have to select cards to *discard.* We only need 1 of the 2 Treasure symbols provided by our Treasure card, but unfortunately, there's no way to make change. Oh well. *Select [red]these two cards.[/red] Click on [blue]"Activate and discard selected."[/blue]*2card_discard_10

NekonyancerBefore you go, let's take a look at the last two kinds of cards. *Draw a [red]Knowledge[/red] card!*1knowledge

Nekonyancer*Knowledge* cards often have symbols from many different categories. This one requires a *Brass* symbol, which is the other kind of symbol found on *Resource* cards.1handcard_76

NekonyancerOkay, [red]*this one*[/red] is more interesting! Many Machine cards have a *∞ effect,* indicating some kind of persistent benefit. Activating the card will activate the effect as well. Discarding the card will deactivate the effect.1handcard_90
